They are not yet as famous
as Warren Beaty and Faye
Dunnaway who played the
roles of Bonnie and Clyde in
the iconic film of the most
infamous robber couple of
USA. But they might well reach
those heights. And so will
perhaps John Rodrigues from
Karwar and Diyna Chavan
from Maharashtra.

Calangute Police arrested Nagraj alias Gopal
Shetty and his wife Vijayalaxmi from two
separate locations. Nagraj was arrested
for attempted house break at Saligao on
October 3; his wife was arrested from
outside the Sessions Court Panjim days
later.
The husband-wife duo was involved in many
property offences in Karnataka while Nagraj
himself has cases against him at police
stations in Hubli, Shimoga, Mangalore and
Udupi districts of Karnataka. He also had
cases in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andhra
Pradesh police stations. He had murdered
his fellow prisoner Vinod Shettigar at Udupi
Sub-Jail in 2011. In another incident,
his partner had planned his escape from
Shimoga Court after a trial.

Live-in couple John Rodriques (20)
from Karwar and Diyna Chavan (21)
from Maharashtra were arrested for bag
snatching cases along the north coastal belt.
Their targets were foreign tourists. Both had
met on Facebook and developed friendship
to eventually stay together after fleeing
away from their respective homes. Both had
promised during custodial interrogation that
they would leave Goa after the crime and
stay at Karwar only to return to target their
next victim after ensuring they were safe
from the police.
