In a significant move to promote accessibility and inclusive infrastructure, Braille signages for visually impaired passengers have been installed at Margao Railway Station in collaboration with the Kamalaksh Naik Foundation.
The initiative was inaugurated by Subhash Phal Dessai, Minister for Social Welfare, River Navigation and Drinking Water, Government of Goa, in the presence of officials from Konkan Railway and other dignitaries.

On the occasion, the minister also donated four wheelchairs for the benefit of passengers at the railway station, further strengthening facilities for travellers who require assistance.
The installation of Braille signages forms part of the ongoing efforts of Konkan Railway, in line with the vision of Indian Railways, to enhance accessibility and improve facilities for passengers with disabilities.
Placed at key locations across Margao Railway Station, the tactile signages will help visually impaired passengers identify important facilities and navigate the station premises more independently. The initiative is expected to contribute to creating a more inclusive and passenger-friendly environment at the station.
Officials said Konkan Railway remains committed to strengthening passenger amenities and promoting inclusive infrastructure as part of its broader objective of ensuring accessible travel for all.
