The Village Panchayat of Calangute has sealed seven tattoo shops operating along the beach promenade and the Sigdi Restaurant in Khobravaddo for allegedly operating without valid permissions and engaging in suspected illegal activities.
According to panchayat authorities, the action was taken after it was found that the establishments were functioning without the required licences and approvals from the relevant authorities.
Officials said the crackdown forms part of efforts to regulate commercial activities and ensure compliance with rules in Calangute, one of Goa’s most prominent tourist areas.
The panchayat has warned that strict action will be taken against any businesses operating without the necessary permissions and urged commercial establishments in the area to ensure they obtain all required licences before commencing operations.
