With Ganesh festivities approaching fast, both Canacona MLAs are on a spree to distribute some of the food provisions required to celebrate the festival. According to sources, channa dal, razma (grams), rawa, oil and moong is distributed among most of the people celebrating Ganesh festival to the residents at Canacona and Poinguinim constituencies.
Sources informed that the needy people have to bring their ration card at one of the MLA’s residence and take necessary provisions, which is kept ready packed in separate bags.
The other MLA has deputed his men with the required provision to respective houses or has made provisions available at one of the centralized house of a locality so that it is evenly distributed and all the needy residents celebrating Ganesh festival gets it before the festival.The ration cards are reportedly sought to avoid duplication of the beneficiaries.
