PANJIM: Though the contamination of water in Caranzalem has still not been solved, 30 houses have been connected to pipeline again.
Residents, however, fear that the pipes will still hold foul elements as there have been many joints in the pipelines where these have accumulated.
PWD plans to flush out all the pipelines, however, residents claim that the action carried out by the PWD might not be 100 per cent successful.
They have also complained of the long time taken to solve the problem.
Angered residents also stated there have been illegal toilets in the area that have been flushing their waste into the same drainage system and therefore partly responsible for the incident.
They questioned the authorities on why there was no inquiry or check on the illegal toilets.
They also accused the Health Department of working inefficiently.
Residents have demanded a full report on the issue carried out by PWD and produced to the public.
Residents have also appreciated that the Governor took up the issue and sought her help to take immediate action and strict action against those responsible.
