This year’s conference will focus on valuing natural climate solutions, including sustainable farming practices that can enhance carbon capture in soil and support biodiversity. The discussions aim to bridge science, policy, and ethics in the fight against global warming.

Cardinal Ferrao’s participation underscores the Catholic Church’s commitment to environmental stewardship, a cause strongly championed by Pope Francis through his encyclical Laudato Si’, which calls for urgent action to protect the planet.

Church representatives worldwide are expected to emphasize the moral and humanitarian dimensions of climate change, especially its impact on vulnerable communities. Cardinal Ferrao’s presence at COP30 highlights India’s voice in the global faith-based movement for climate justice and ecological sustainability.
