MARGAO: The village ward-wise committees were finalised at the Carmona gram sabha on Sunday.
The low-key gram sabha saw a discussion on the composition of the village development committee with representations from the wards.
The gram sabha also discussed the annual budget for 2016-17. The villagers were informed that the sports budget had been increased from Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 5 lakh.
Meanwhile, there was tension in Carmona over a mobile tower coming up in the village.
The villagers stated that they would oppose the tower as per earlier representations made against the setting-up of mobile towers near residential areas.
