A major fire broke out at a cashew plantation in Orgao Tamsule, Marcel, causing extensive damage and leaving the area completely charred. According to local sources, more than 250 cashew trees along with several young plants were destroyed in the blaze. The fire reportedly spread rapidly through the dry vegetation, making it difficult to contain in its initial stages.
Residents alerted the authorities soon after noticing thick smoke rising from the plantation. However, officials reportedly faced challenges in reaching the exact spot of the fire as their vehicle could not access the interior section of the property due to approach constraints. By the time efforts were made to control the flames, a significant portion of the plantation had already been reduced to ashes.
The incident has resulted in heavy losses for the plantation owner, particularly as young plants that were expected to yield future produce were also damaged. No injuries were reported in the incident.
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, and further investigation is expected to determine whether it was accidental or triggered by external factors.
