Bengaluru techie accused of killing parents after dispute

Police on Thursday said a 33-year-old tech professional allegedly killed his parents following a dispute over financial matters at their residence in Whitefield. The accused, identified as Rohan Chandra Bhat, is suspected to have stabbed his father, Naveen Chandra Bhat (60), a retired Navy captain, and his mother, Dr Shyamala Bhat (55), a dentist, during a heated argument on Wednesday night.

According to Whitefield DCP Saidulu Adavath, the accused had been living separately due to ongoing financial difficulties. He reportedly visited his parents’ home to discuss a project-related approval, which soon escalated into a confrontation. During the altercation, he allegedly attacked both parents. Police have taken the accused into custody, and further investigation is underway to determine the exact sequence of events
