The Goa State Election Commission (GSEC) has notified the delimitation of wards for the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) on February 12, 2026, paving the way for the conduct of municipal elections, GSEC Commissioner Menino D’Souza announced.
As per the notification, the Additional Collector (North) has been appointed as the Election Commissioner for the CCP polls, while the Collector (North) will function as the Returning Officer.

A total of 48 polling booths will be set up for the CCP elections. The maximum permissible election expenditure for each candidate has been fixed at ₹2.5 lakh. Voting will be conducted through ballot papers.
The nomination process will begin on February 17 and continue until February 24. Scrutiny and withdrawal of nominations will follow as per the election schedule.
Polling for the CCP elections will be held on March 11, with counting of votes scheduled for March 13.
In addition, by-elections for 14 panchayat wards across the state will be conducted on March 8.
The GSEC Commissioner also confirmed that the Model Code of Conduct has come into force with immediate effect. Voting for both the CCP polls and panchayat by-elections will be conducted using the old electoral roll.
The Election Commission has urged political parties, candidates, and voters to adhere strictly to the code of conduct and cooperate to ensure free, fair, and transparent elections.
