The Chief Minister stated that the upgraded and newly named complex is envisioned as a hub for nurturing grassroots sports and providing quality infrastructure for young athletes in the Ponda region. The facility is expected to host training programmes, local tournaments, and community sporting activities.

“The Ravi Sports Complex will stand as a symbol of Late Ravi Naik’s dedication to public welfare and development. It will also serve as an important platform to identify and encourage sporting talent from the region,” Sawant said.

The move is expected to further strengthen sports culture in Ponda, inspire youth participation, and contribute to Goa’s long-term vision of promoting sports at the grassroots level.
