Tourist Apprehended at Colva Beach for Filming Women Without Consent, Handed Over to Police

Tourist Police Unit personnel deployed at Colva beach apprehended a tourist on February 15, 2026, for allegedly capturing photographs and videos of Indian and foreign female tourists without their consent.

The accused has been identified as Rohit Sanjay Pawar, a resident of Maharashtra. The incident occurred at around 1.15 pm, when Tourist Police staff noticed his suspicious behaviour and intervened.

Following his apprehension, the individual was handed over to Colva Police Station for further necessary legal action.

Police have reiterated that any form of harassment, including unauthorised photography or videography of individuals, will be dealt with strictly, and have urged visitors to respect privacy and local laws while visiting tourist destinations in the state.
