The North Goa Collector on Friday submitted the final report on delimitation to the Municipal Administration for approval and notification. The delimitation report has been approved by the State government.
Municipal Administration Director Elvis Gomes said only the boundaries of certain wards have been redrawn. The report will be now sent to the State Election Commission for a final decision.
The government has informed the High Court that the notification on delimitation would be issued on January 11.
The possibility of increase in number of wards was raised when Deputy Chief Minister Francis D’Souza who holds the Urban Development portfolio, hinted at an increase in the number of wards from 30 to 33.
