CURCHOREM: St Joseph’s Educational Institute, Chandor has been awarded Annual Wipro Earthian National Awards 2019 for their project under the theme “Waste Management” during the function held at Wipro House, Bangalore, recently.
According to the Headmistress Perci D’Costa, they received a award of Rs1 lakh and a memento along with certificate at the hands of Wipro Chairman Rishad Premji for the project they presented under waste management title “Use it up or do what – A step towards a zero waste school,” D’Costa said and informed that it was selected among the top 10 school projects from all over India.
The project team consisting of Trenisha D’Costa, Gourav Naik, Jwelon Antao and Delbert D’Costa under the guidance of Teacher Teresa Jose Furtado participated in the presentation.
“Preserving and conserving the pristine purity of mother earth is nothing short of a passion for us at this institution. May we all join hands to target the end of our dirty love affair with trash” was the message given by Headmistress after congratulating and acknowledging the hard efforts put in by the students and teachers.
