The Old Session’s Court in Margao on Friday served copies of the chargesheet to 12 accused in the high-profile Mungul gang-war case that occurred in August this year. Although police have named a total of 28 individuals in connection with the incident, only those present before the court today received their copies.
Lawyers representing the case confirmed that the chargesheet runs into an extensive 682 pages, detailing the investigation and evidence gathered so far. The remaining accused are expected to be produced before the court during the next hearing, when they too will be served with the chargesheet.
The Mungul gang-war case, which sparked widespread concern earlier this year, continues to undergo detailed judicial scrutiny as proceedings move forward.
