Ms Naik made the statement soon after she was elected unopposed as sarpanch on Tuesday.
Ms Naik told reporters that AAI has been facilitating commercial units to do business in and outside the airport terminal building for which AAI has been duly collecting good amount of revenue.
“However, the AAI officials have been refusing to pay taxes to the panchayat which is unfair as we have been losing lot of revenue every year,” she alleged.
“Now as nine out of 11 panchas have elected me unopposed and have reposed faith in me, I have decided to take up the issue very aggressively to ensure that AAI pays all sorts of taxes to the panchayat for the commercial activities it has permitted on its premises,” she said.
Naik also informed that apart from collecting taxes from AAI, she would also ensure that all the rental premises within panchayat jurisdiction are surveyed and the owners made to pay one month rent as tax to the panchayat.
She said that she would also give priority to the long pending demand of widening of all the internal roads in the village where emergency vehicles including fire tenders and ambulances cannot reach.
She claimed that online services would be made more people friendly to ensure that people get all sorts of services online by sitting at home, without visiting the panchayat office.
Meanwhile, the sarpanch election witnessed a new political development when Congress leader and former Chicalim sarpanch Mary Mascrenehas joined the MLA Mauvin Godinho-backed panel and offered her support to Ms Naik.
On the occasion, Mauvin said, “The forces which have aligned with me send a clear cut signal that we are very strong in the Dabolim constituency. Besides having clear support in New Vaddem and Vaddem, we have Chicalim and Bogmalo panchayats with us and this proves that it would be a clean sweep for me and for BJP in Dabolim.”
