The climate change is knocking at our door with Goa at the brink to lose its fight for Mhadei. The government should prioritise water conservation in the State. Make mandatory water harvesting for new housing projects. Promote use of renewable energy.
Goa has good potential to tap solar energy. The thermal power plants consume enormous amount of water. There is a need to show some urgency in curbing deforestation, and more land needs to be brought under protected forest. Day by day the temperature and sea level is rising.

If we look around in Goa lot of wetlands and fertile fields and hills have been destroyed for developing roads and other government projects. Simple steps such as washing our car at servicing center or using car washer will save 50-60 per cent of water. Using bucket for taking bath instead of shower will save minimum 50 litres of water per bath. Measures are plenty what we need is commitment and concern. Requesting PWD to rectify the portable water leaks in the pipeline, thousand litres of precious water gets wasted every day.
