PONDA: It is almost two months now the motorists in Ponda are facing inconvenience due to bad road conditions and are fed up with the zig zag riding or driving while trying to skip the potholes.
As the potholes get filled up with the rain water it becomes difficult to identify the spot and also the size of the craters increase with the heavy rainfall.
Just few days back, in one such pothole, a woman fell from her bike and got injured. Many bike riders also have received fractures after skidding off the road.
The roads at Borim are sometimes submerged and the motorists find it difficult to find their way.
Due to the Code of Conduct imposed for the recently held Assembly and Lok Sabha elections, the work of cleaning of drains and gutters was also delayed.
With Ganesh Festival just two weeks ahead, the commuters hope that the PWD Minister keeps up with his promise he made recently in the Assembly of repairing the roads.
To add to the problems, cattle and stray dogs are also causing nuisance to the motorists in Ponda City and villages, many times causing accidents.
