Recently the electricity department has undertaken the task of installing LED fixtures in the state of Goa.
However, the work is found to be far from being satisfactory and seem to have carried out in a haphazard manner, with a sense of professionalism.
Interestingly, at some spots although LED fixtures have been fixed, the existing focus lamp fixtures have not been removed from the concerned streetlight poles.
Seen in the picture are focus lamp and LED fixture which are functioning together over a electricity pole in the vicinity of Shree Kapleshwar temple at Kapleshwari in Ponda.
The photograph was taken on Friday, July 28 at 7:30 am (Of course, these fixtures were subsequently switched off at 7:35 am during my presence at this spot).
Although the streetlights are to be switched off at 6:00 am as per the rules, this timing has been overlooked on most occasions. Hence, a lot of precious power supply gets wasted like anything.
I hope the higher officials at the electricity department in Ponda would take a note of above serious matter and remove the unwanted focus lamp fixture from the above electricity pole at the earliest.
