PONDA: Taking a dig at the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP), Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch (BBSM) has dared the regional party to clear its stand on the medium of instruction (MoI) issue.
Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch leader Subhash Velingkar challenged the MGP to snap its alliance with the ruling BJP and then speak about their love for mother tongue as medium of instruction in education.
Addressing a public meeting in the Dhareshwari Hall, Dharbandora, Velingkar said, “For the sake of preserving Goan culture and for uniting all Goans, the Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch would give a new political option against the ruling Government in 2017 Assembly election.
Taking a dig at the government, he alleged, “BJP is a “goalless” party, which has no love for culture and morals as it only aims for power.”
The Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch agitation is in final stage and its public meeting on August 27 will be its last meeting. BBSM would take utmost care to defeat BJP candidates in forthcoming election for betraying the people by taking U-turns on medium of instruction issue.
