CLP to target govt over its failures

PANJIM: The Congress Legislative Party (CLP) on Wednesday resolved to target the BJP-led government over its successive failures, including de-notifying the Regional Plan 2021 and having a proper garbage management plan, during the forthcoming monsoon session of the legislative assembly beginning from July 27.

The CLP meeting chaired by Pratapsing Rane pointed out how the government has failed to make necessary budgetary provisions, while making several announcements. The monsoon session will discuss and pass the Budget.
Congress MLAs also decided to target the government on increasing the water and power tariffs. The pathetic health conditions at Goa Medical College and Hospital and other health centers will also be raised, as will the government’s failure to implement the unemployment scheme, wherein it had decided to provide monthly financial support.
Congress is now left with only eight MLAs. Two months ago the party had expelled its St Cruz MLA Atanasio Monserrate.
