PANJIM: Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar launched the Goa Police e-policing service on Tuesday. The initiative is to offer the people e-services, including police verification system and lost articles reporting system.
Along with these services Goa Police have also launched the Goa Police mobile application and Goa Police mobile eye-watch application for emergency needs to the people.
People can now apply for police clearance certificate, police verification certificate and tenant verification online while sitting at home, without having to visit the police stations.
The lost article report system enables people to report missing items from home or from their mobile phones. The digitally signed report of the missing articles will be emailed to the complainant along with the complainant’s photo and residential address.
To deliver these two services, Goa Police has updated their website, which will enable the people to avail the services of verification system and report lost articles system.
The Goa Police mobile app has the facilities of instant calling in case of emergency and SOS messaging service. It is useful for the people in an emergency when they feel the need for the police. The app also consists of reporting the offences and traffic violations.
Goa Police Eye-watch mobile app which works on android phones will act like a personal safety system. Once it is installed on the smart phone it enables the user to trigger alerts and communicate emergency information using SMS, emails and voice calls to the police and the user’s call guardians. The app has a facility to store a few contact numbers which the users wants to contact in an emergency. The app can send the user’s location, an audio recording, a video stream and periodic location tracking once the user triggers the alert.
Addressing the gathering at the launch, Parsekar praised Goa Police for their initiative and performance. He said that in the last six months the crime rate has decreased by 35 percent and detection rate has increased by 15 percent, which is a good sign.
