Concern was raised in the Goa Legislative Assembly over a retaining wall near the sluice gate at Socoband in Ambelim, which has reportedly begun to tilt and may pose a serious risk to nearby areas.
Raising the matter during Zero Hour, Cruz Silva urged the government to take immediate action, warning that if the wall collapses it could obstruct the flow of water into the River Sal. Such a blockage, he said, could lead to flooding in the low-lying areas of Pedda in Ambelim village.

The issue was directed to Subhash Shirodkar, with a demand for an urgent inspection of the structure and reconstruction of the retaining wall before the onset of the monsoon season.
Silva stressed that timely intervention is necessary to safeguard homes, agricultural fields and the livelihoods of residents in the village.
