Concerns over the safety of women tourists visiting Goa were raised in the Goa Legislative Assembly on Tuesday, following reports of harassment at beaches and other popular tourist locations.
During a Zero Hour mention, Sankalp Amonkar highlighted the issue and called on the government to take stronger steps to ensure the safety and dignity of women visitors to the state.

The matter was directed to Rohan Khaunte, with Amonkar stressing that incidents of harassment could damage Goa’s reputation as a safe and welcoming tourism destination.
He also pointed out that tourism is a major source of livelihood for thousands of people in the state, and any negative perception regarding visitor safety could have wider economic implications.
Amonkar urged the government to implement effective measures to safeguard tourists and maintain Goa’s image as a secure destination for travellers.
