Residents in the Panjim experienced rising summer heat on Monday as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported a sharp difference between the recorded temperature and the “feels like” temperature.
At 11.30 am, the maximum temperature was 31°C, but the heat index was recorded at 37°C. By 2.30 pm, the temperature increased to 32.4°C, while the heat index surged to 41.2°C, indicating intense humidity-driven discomfort.

The IMD has predicted dry and sunny conditions to continue in Goa until March 15. During the next 24 hours, the maximum temperature is expected to reach around 33°C, while the minimum temperature may hover around 24°C.
High humidity levels were cited as the main reason behind the higher heat index. In Panaji, the temperature reached 33.1°C by 5.30 pm, with relative humidity recorded at 74%.
