PANJIM: The Congress Friday criticised the government for not keeping a full time official as Member Secretary of the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority, alleging that this was against the law, quoting a National Green Tribunal order.
CLP spokesman, Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco told media that this was a ‘blunt violation’ and showed the mindset of this particular government.
The relevant extract order dated December 18, 2012 relied on by the Congress says, “That apart according to law, the member secretary is a full-time officer and cannot be assigned with any other supplementary duties. Thus, there was no reason as to why the member secretary did not comply with the orders passed by this Tribunal.”
