PANJIM: The Congress party on Sunday condemned Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar’s jibe against actor Aamir Khan terming the statement as “ridiculous”.
“It’s ridiculous that Parrikar is making such statement,” Congress spokesman Sunil Kawathankar said in a statement on Sunday.
At a book release function in Pune, Parrikar had said, “one actor had said that his wife wants to leave India… Such people need to be taught a lesson by the people of this country.”
Kawathankar said during his tenure as chief minister of Goa, Parrikar failed to teach a lesson to casinos, corrupt politicos, corrupt bureaucrats and those who had created a bad regional plan (land use plan) and not to forget the Nigerians creating ruckus blocking the highway.
He said Parrikar was distributing bulbs when Kashmir was burning and he is the one who invited and allowed ISI agents to inspect Pathankot air force base as a post-terror attack measure.
“He is speaking of teaching actor Aamir Khan a lesson. This shows his learning,” Kawathankar said.
