PANJIM: All India Congress Committee (AICC) Secretary Girish Chodankar said that Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar should provide regular drinking water to his own voters in Panjim before providing drinking water to others.
Chodankar was speaking on Parrikar’s willingness to consider the demand of Karnataka to give Mhadei water for drinking needs. Chodankar said Parrikar who has been elected since for 22 years by the people of Panjim constituency has failed to quench the thirst of his own voters, who get water for less than two hours daily despite.
He further said that Parrikar has been promising the moon to his voters during election campaigns, but once he pockets the victory, he conveniently takes them for granted.
“Let the chief minister first quench the thirst of his own people and then take a political stand on other similar interstate issues,” Chodankar said.
“The water shortage miserably has gripped the people living in areas of Panjim, Altinho, Mala, Ribandar and other areas with no solution since 22 years,” he said.
“People are still waiting for the government to fulfill their basic needs as their worries are not settled with the tall claims and speeches by Parrikar. Panajikars expect Parrikar to accept the ground reality and work for the people who have stood by him since 22years,” he said.
