Independent Zilla Panchayat member Wilfred D’Sa joined the Congress along with 1000 of his supporters. Opposition Leader Pratapsing Rane, South Goa District Congress Committe President Subhash Faldessai, Pratima Coutinho and other Congressmen were present. Wilfred D’Sa popularly known as ‘Babashan’ has expressed his desire to contest the assembly elections in the future with the support of the Congress. The meeting gained more importance as the Nuvem MLA Mickky Pacheco has been convicted in an assault case.
While speaking at the meeting Goa Pradesh Congress committee President Luizinho Faleiro said, “The Bharatiya Janata Party Goa and Central Government have done “Sabka Saath, Sabka Ghaat and Sabka Satyanaas.” Luizinho said, that the Goa government has drawn per-capita almost Rs 80,000 loan on every individual of Goa. GPCC President added that Goa is the highest tax payer State in the country.
