After the ZP elections, Congress is planning to field independent candidates and form panels across all the municipalities which go to the polls in October. Congress leaders are of the opinion that party men need to come together to fight the forthcoming municipal polls that are being considered as a semi final before the next assembly elections which could even be held in 2016, before the completion of the Assembly term.
“This idea came to us in the recent meeting at Sanguem where Congressmen insisted that the party field a panel and we think this is a good idea,” GPCC President Luizinho Faleiro said.
