Congress seeks action against politicians for not wearing masks in public

MARGAO: The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee has demanded immediate action against renowned State politicians for openly violating the Disaster Management Act of 2005. 

Congress spokesperson Vithu Morajkar said these politicians are seen without masks in public and are not maintaining social distancing.

“It is very sad that our police are also supporting their acts by not stopping and checking them at various check posts especially at Agassaim junction in North Goa while common man is checked thoroughly” he said. 

“Instead helping, the police are harassing the common man. I request the DIG to immediately intervene and take action against the PI and PSI of Agassaim Police Station,” Congress urged. 

The Congress has demanded the withdrawal of the circular that allows only one person to sit behind the driver in a car.
