The harvest festival, popularly known as konsachem fest, was celebrated in Corlim on Monday with traditional fervour.
St Joao Facundo Church Parish Priest Fr Assis Dourado was the main celebrant for the feast, who along with the villagers led a procession to Calvaddo towards konsachi kongi and blessed the first paddy corn.
After cutting the corn, it was distributed among the people who had assembled for the feast mass. Later, a procession was taken back to the church, where Fr Dourado celebrated the feast mass.
As part of harvest festival tradition in Corlim, every year people from the village gather and celebrate the festival with the coconut-breaking contest, which was seen organized at various places in and around Corlim.
