MARGAO: In a special drive, Curtorim panchayat on Saturday removed nearly 300 banners put up by political parties in its jurisdiction without permission.
Sarpanch, Milagres Rodrigues warned the political parties of strict action if they are found displaying their banners without permission.

It is pertinent to note that several political parties have started putting up their banners for the upcoming elections. These banners can be seen on the electricity poles and even in private properties.
“We had noticed several banners of political parties in the jurisdiction of Curtorim Panchayat, and that too without permission. We don’t want to promote such activities in our village. It is necessary to take permissions from the panchayat, if somebody wants to put up any banner”, said Milagres.
He said following a decision by the panchayat body, the drive was conducted on Saturday wherein nearly 300 banners of various political parties were removed.
“We will not tolerate such activities in future”, he warned.
