MARGAO: All does not appear well on the sanitation front in and around the Cutbona fishing jetty as a joint inspection by the Goa State Pollution Control Board, health and the Velim village Panchayat on Monday unearthed rampant discharge of sewage and waste water in the water bodies.
Around 70-80 residential houses and the business establishments at the jetty were inspected by the officials on Monday following a complaint lodged by a citizen on the absence of sanitary facilities in the locality.
Sources said many a residential house and establishments were found discharging the sewage waste in the water bodies, contaminating the same.
