MARGAO: Terming the presentation by NCSCM to MLAs on the Coastal Zone Management Plan (CZMP) an attempt to hoodwink people, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has asked the people to be ever vigilant to ensure that the same plan is not brought back with a few cosmetic changes.
AAP Goa convener Elvis Gomes said that if the government was concerned about the people’s views, then, it ought to have straight away cancelled the plans that are full of faults that it cannot be revised and has to be drawn afresh.
He also cautioned about depending upon the MLAs. “The elected representatives were totally silent for the last two years when the plan was being prepared by a Chennai based company and that the MLAs could be bought over to support the plan with cosmetic changes,” he said.
He further warned that approval to CZMP along with the regional plan and nationalization of rivers would spell a death knell for Goa and Goans.
