Dalvi Calls Ticket Denial an “Injustice,” Seeks Answers from Party Leadership

Vishwanath Dalvi has expressed strong disappointment after being denied the BJP ticket for the upcoming Ponda by-election, terming the decision an “injustice” and seeking clarity from the party leadership.

Dalvi said he will meet Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to understand the reasons behind the move and present his side. A long-time member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Dalvi emphasized that he has handled several responsibilities within the organisation and expected the party to recognise his contribution at this crucial juncture.

“I feel that injustice has been done to me, and I need to put forth my side at the right forum,” Dalvi said, adding that he remains committed to the party but is deeply hurt by the decision. He indicated that after hearing the party’s explanation, he would consult his supporters before taking any further step.

Dalvi also pointed out that such decisions impact not just individual leaders but also party workers on the ground. He suggested that if the party assures that such situations will not arise in the future, he may reconsider his stance.

The development has added a new dimension to the political atmosphere in Ponda ahead of the by-election, with Dalvi’s next move likely to be closely watched.
