Database to check dual entries soon

The Election Commission will soon be able to effectively verify whether a voter is listed on two different electoral rolls. It is in the process of constituting a standard database which will help to check such entries easily as all the States in the country will have access to it.
“We will able to check on any entry and verify that it is not listed on the electoral roll of any other State,” told ACEO . The new database is likely to be in place at the end of the year.
The Election Commission is set to achieve another important milestone. It intends to start with on-line registration of voters soon. “The day is not far. The process of putting in place adequate mechanism for on-line registration has already begun,” says ACEO.
