PANJIM: Makarand Sathe, Jaya Ramchandani, Lord Karan Bilimoria and Sudhir Patwardhan will be the speakers at the 11th edition of the D D Kosambi Festival of Ideas to be held from February 13 to 16 at Kala Academy.
They have been described as persons with the audacity to ignite great ideas rather than personalities with a populist aura.
“The talks at the festival not only look back but also forward, into a future that may yet be unknown but is challenging and calling out for transformation: the role of technology, the rise of citizen power, the rise of the millennial, how to bring change in health care, education, governance, social thought etc,” reads a statement released.
The annual event is organised by Directorate of Art & Culture, in the name of legendary Damodar Dharmanand Kosambi, the Indian intellectual and multi-talented personality.
The D D Kosambi Festival of Ideas has been Goa’s largest event of its kind with a legacy of a decade now. It has hosted over 55 globally celebrated speakers with great ideas, and is one of the most awaited of events by intellectuals, academicians, student community & the business class.
The statement adds, “The category of people attending is ever evolving relative to the versatile selection of speakers invited to deliver the lectures. We have been experiencing an audience of over 1000 per day every year during the festival of ideas in the auditorium, which itself accounts to the grand success of this event.”
