Senior BJP leader Vishwanath Dalvi is set to meet Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant after being denied the party ticket for the upcoming Ponda by-election.
Expressing disappointment over the decision, Dalvi said he believes an injustice has been done to him and intends to present his concerns before the appropriate party forum. “We are responsible leaders of the BJP and have been entrusted with various responsibilities. However, I feel that injustice has been done to me, and I need to put forth my side at the right forum,” he stated.
He further added that after hearing the party’s perspective, he would consult his supporters before deciding on the next course of action. Dalvi said he is hopeful that assurances will be given to prevent similar situations in the future.
Admitting that he is hurt by the development, Dalvi noted that he had expected to be considered for the ticket this time. He also said that if the party has taken the decision keeping its future in mind, leaders like him deserve clarity on where they may have fallen short.
The development comes amid internal discussions within the party ahead of the crucial by-election in Ponda.
