PONDA: A broken-down tanker near Borim Church has been causing significant inconvenience to devotees and commuters during the Christmas Festival. Local residents have urged the authorities to act swiftly and remove the vehicle.

The tanker, which broke down a week ago on the main road of the NH near Borim Bridge, has created multiple challenges for the public. Locals report that the obstruction is particularly troublesome for devotees attending church services, mass prayers, and other Christmas programmes.
One local resident explained, “The truck broke down right in front of the church gate, blocking access for people attending celebrations. Now that the Christmas Festival has started, visitors from surrounding villages like Shiroda and Loutolim coming for nightly masses are facing immense inconvenience.”
Apart from disrupting the festival, the broken-down tanker poses safety risks to motorists and commuters. Another resident added, “Travelling by bike or car in this area has become risky, especially during the evening when traffic congestion worsens due to the tanker blocking the busy road.”
Locals have demanded immediate action from the traffic police and other concerned authorities to clear the tanker.
