Digital evaluation for Class XII papers

PANJIM: The answer sheets of Class XII students will go through a digital evaluation. This will be a first for Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) and will encourage transparency. The results are expected by May 12.

Board Chairman J R Rebello said that only certain papers will be corrected digitally, this being the first attempt. “The digital evaluation of answer papers will bring transparency and better efficiency. However, only certain subject papers will go through the process,” he told Herald.
As many as 16,000 students of Class XII Science, Commerce and Arts stream answered the exams from February 29 to March 22 while the Vocational students had their exams from March 1 to 17.
The chairman said the results will be declared by May 12, a day after the students appear for the GCET exams scheduled on May 10-11. “We don’t want students to rush for mark sheets and completing other related formalities at the time of GCET preparation, which is why we slated the results after the entrance test,” he said.
While the Class XII papers will be corrected digitally, the Class X answer sheets will undergo the usual correction trend. The results of around 19,600 SSC students are expected by May-end.
