The PWD officials were directed to take urgent steps to prevent landslides in future.

It may be recalled that on July 7, a major landslide occurred at Connem along the Ponda- Panjim NH forcing traffic diversion from GEC road and internal roads at Priol.

The area experienced heavy rainfall for over a month, exposing the landslide area further.

Last week, the authorities were forced to divert traffic and clear some of the dangerous portion of the landslide.
