CANACONA: Commemorating the completion of 29 years since the Sarvajanik Ganeshtav Mandal was established at Char Rasta, near Canacona, local MLA and Deputy Speaker Isidore Fernandes along with others were felicitated by Deputy Chief Minister Babu Kavlekar at a function, on Tuesday.
“Personalities from various fields were felicitated,” informed Ajay Bhagat, founder president of the mandal.
Kavlekar felicitated former Canacona MLA and sports minister Ramesh Tawadkar, former chairpersons of Canacona Municipal Council (CMC) Simon Rebello and Rajendra Desai, Police Inspector of Dabolim Airport Police Station Ravi Desai and Proprietor of Ritz Classic Hotels Rohidas Desai. Others present for the programme were CMC Chairperson Nitu Desai, committee members and dignitaries from all over the taluka.
On the occasion, the draw of annual lottery was also held. Kushwant Bhagat president of the Ganeshtav Mandal speaking to Herald said that after completing nine days of worship we will immerse the Ganesha idol with the traditional fervour and gaiety.
