Early Licences Lift Spirits of Goa’s Shack Owners Ahead of Season

The early allotment of beach shacks in Goa has given shack operators a much-needed boost ahead of the tourist season. For the first time in years, the Tourism Department granted licences well in advance, enabling owners to set up smoothly before the official season kicks off. Operators say this will allow them to welcome visitors without the stress of last-minute delays.

In previous seasons, delayed allotments created financial pressure and confusion, often leaving shacks struggling to open on time. Last year, the late permissions coupled with slow tourist arrivals dented business significantly. This year, however, owners are hopeful that timely approvals will ensure better service, smoother operations, and stronger revenues.
