PANJIM: In an initiative to implement the garbage segregation drive in Fatorda, ‘We For Fatorda’ a trust supported by Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai distributed 100 wet and dry garbage bins to 50 housing societies in Fatorda constituency in the first phase. Eventually all housing societies of Fatorda will be covered. Shridar Kamat, CEO, Fomento Green, Viraj Aramdekar, MMC Sanitary Inspector, Elino Colaco, ex-chairperson were also present. Sardesai thanked the people for co-operating in assisting to solve the garbage issue. He assured educative programmes and competitions throughout the forthcoming year to create awareness on garbage segregation. Also present was Fr Alvaro Martins, Parish Priest, Rosary Church and Berta Cardozo, Councillor MMC.
Drawing contest held at Corlim
CORLIM: A drawing competition for school students was held at Madkaikar Navchaitanya High School, Corlim, Tiswadi on World Environment Day, which was supported by Syngenta Santa Monica, Corlim. Local MLA Pandurang Madkaikar was present along with Kamlesh Pai Fondekar, P S Jagadeesha and Andrew D’Souza of Sygenta. Seven primary schools and six high schools participated in the competition, which was held in three categories. Nidhi Naik of Jesus & Mary Sarvajanik HS, Harish Kundaikar from Sharada English HS, Marcela and Prabhav Gaonkar of Sharada English HS, Marcela were declared winners. Prizes were later handed over to the winners.
Rosary HSS PTA meet held
PANJIM: The PTA general body meeting of Rosary HSS, Navelim was held in Rosary Parish hall. The theme was coping with peer pressure. The chief guest was Fr Seville Antao. The Manager Fr Camilo Dias welcomed. To commemorate the silver jubilee celebrations a souvenir of Rosary Higher Secondary was released.
