PANJIM: Jay Dhavan, 26, a distiller from Fatorda died due to drowning at Colva beach on Saturday night.
The tragedy occurred when Dhavan along with his friends had gone to Colva beach to celebrate the birthday of one of his friends.
Later, Dhavan along with his two friends decided to go for a swim and he got pulled into the water due to high tide. His friends managed to pull him out of water and rushed him to the Hospicio Hospital, Margao where doctors declared him brought dead.
The Colva police later conducted the panchanama and registered a case of unnatural death.
