PONDA: Ashok Naik has been re-elected president of Gomantak Bhandari Samaj while his 17-member Central Executive Committee has also been given an extension of three years during the general body meeting held at Ponda on Sunday
While addressing the media, after the meeting attended by 1000 plus members, a committee member said, “Gomantak Bhandari Samaj will file a defamation case against Atish Mandrekar and 27 others for filing unnecessary case against the president at Panjim Police Station on accounts issue. There is no scam in accounts. It only caused embarrassment to the president and was a waste of time at Panjim Police for six hours, which is an insult to the president as well as to the entire Bhandari samaj”.
“Gomantak Bhandari Samaj has their offices in every taluka. The members should approach these offices for any information related to samaj before approaching police,” Ashok said.
