PANJIM: The hearing of the criminal miscellaneous application filed by Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Girish Chodankar seeking directions to the Panjim Police to register an FIR against 10 party rebel MLAs and others for forging documents was adjourned to September 4.

The hearing was adjourned since the Ad-hoc Civil Judge Senior Division and Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Court, Panjim was busy in hearing another important matter referred back by the High Court of Bombay at Goa.
During the last hearing on August 18, the JMFC had adjourned the matter to Saturday to seek clarification on jurisdiction aspect.
Chodankar is praying for direction to the Panjim Police to register an FIR against the 10 rebel party MLAs and 53 others for allegedly forging party documents and producing the same as genuine before the Goa Assembly Speaker, who was hearing disqualification petition against the MLAs.
The applicant, is also praying for free and proper investigations and to timely submit the progress of investigations to the court.
While the Panjim Police have already filed its reply stating that the complaint has been forwarded to the Porvorim Police Station on point of jurisdiction, for necessary action.
