First AI traffic signal installed at the Merces junction

The first Artificial Intelligence-operated traffic signal was installed at the Merces junction on Wednesday, by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. Over a period of 1 year, all traffic signals will change to AI. The signals which will have the capacity to track traffic violations and even pollution monitoring will be operated in PPP mode. 

70% of the amount collected from fines will go to the private company and 30% of revenue will go to the government, Goa PWD Minister Nilesh Cabral told the media.  The traffic signal will be fully functional from March 20.
