Fisherman rescued from drowning

A 55-year-old fisherman from Baina, but a native of Taligram-Udupi, Karnataka, was rescued from drowning by lifeguards of Drishti Special Response Service at Baina beach on Tuesday afternoon.
According to reports, the incident occurred when Sanjeev Bangar entered the water for fishing with his fishing net, but due to strong underwater currents and rough sea, he was pulled and was in distress.
Lifeguard Kashinath Chawan seeing Bangar in distress rushed towards the victim with rescue tube. Lifeguard Bassapa Harijan also rushed with the rescue tube. The victim was secured and was brought to the shore safely.
